Magnetohydrodynamic Waves in an Asymmetric Magnetic Slab with Different External Flows

Abstract Building on recent studies of the Kelvin–Helmholtz instability (KHI) in solar atmosphere, we investigate a simple analytical model that can further our understanding how presence bulk flows influences propagation magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves. Our builds series works stationary MHD waveguides and looks at magnetic slab with density asymmetry, as well asymmetric background steady present its environment. We obtained approximate solutions to dispersion relation for important applicable limiting cases thin or wide slab, low- high- ? plasmas. also explored between angular frequency trapped waves, limit onset KHI, small parameters describing flow asymmetries. investigation is complemented by numerical analysis various speeds widths. Both these avenues study reveal field asymmetry has an effect both cutoff frequencies stability waves configuration.
